Tasty Tuesday: Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodles are my husband's favorite cookie. Here's the recipe I use. These cookies are delightful!

Snickerdoodles

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened (I always use butter)
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon

Heat oven to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, beat 1 1/2 cups of sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; blend well. Add flour, cream of tarter, baking soda and salt. Mix well. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon (I play with these amounts-adjusting them to my liking.) Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll balls in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely.

I love those w/ coffee or tea! Mmmmm!

Oops!! I guess it's sort of mean to post an old picture. Guess I'll have to do some baking this week!

YUM and thanks for the recipe. Is that a pampered chef stone? I love my stone.

Wow. This recipe is waaaaaay different from the one I used. Can't wait to try it. I'm sure my kids won't mind if I make snickerdoodles 2x in a week. I don't think the first ones that came out as snickerdoodle piles really count, though.

I craved these when I was pregnant with my last. Yummy. 7-11 actually has a pretty good one. My husband would run out and get them 3 for a dollar.

They look yummy. I will try and alternate the recipe to gluten free and see if my little guy would like those
