Toffee Brunch Coffee Cake

My friend Amy passed on this coffee cake recipe. I cannot wait to try it out! I think I will put it all on my grocery list and make it next week. It sounds so delicious!

TOFFEE BRUNCH COFFEE CAKE
½ c butter
½ c sugar
2 c flour
1 c brown sugar, packed
1 c. buttermilk (or soured)
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp soda
4 (3/4 oz) crushed Heath Bars
¼ c chopped pecans (optional)

Note: To crush bars: place in freezer, when frozen, place between foil and roll with rolling pin.

Cut butter into flour & sugars until crumbly. Set aside ½ c. To remainder add buttermilk, soda, egg and vanilla – beat well. Pour 1/3 batter into a well greased and floured mini bundt pan. Combine reserved mix, candy and nuts. Sprinkle 1/3 over batter. Alternate remaining batter and candy mix. Bake at 350 for 30-40 min.

Additional Notes: This is good if you add a little more Heath Bar than it says...it gives it a little more yummy goodness. Also, make sure to either butter and flour the bundt pan OR use Pam Baking Spray. It can stick to the pan and is a mess when you take it out.

Hee Hee. I hope you are able to make it. You'll have to let me know if you like it as much as we do! :)

The only real problem is that this tempts me to get the Heath Bar box at Costco. I mean if I need 4 or 5 bars...maybe I should get the box. That's logical, right?

Yummy! I was thinking how perfect it would be for MOPS, too!! I might even try it out when my family comes to town in a couple of weeks, Jane Anne! Thanks for sharing! I agree on needing the ENTIRE box from Costco. I mean, you can't have TOO many-hehe

JA - you sound like me and the Costco box of Snickers that I usually keep around for my apple salad.
FYI - Don't let Keith know if you end up getting a box. The next time we are down there they might mysteriously disappear.

JA - this sounds like a great Easter breakfast treat or dessert, dontcha think?

I don't have Costco anymore, but that box? Sounds like a good thing. I'm totally going to try this too! Thanks for posting, Jane Anne!

Oh my goodness this sounds yummy. And good idea to make it for MOPS, otherwise I would eat the whole thing. :)
Jane Anne, it's never a bad thing to stock up on necessary pantry items, right? ;)
Thanks for sharing - can't wait to try it!
